After a few last super stressful and dramatic days in the Czech Republic (thank the Universe I'm OUTTA THERE!!), I made it back to Seattle via a fabulous 24-hour layover in Paris. I wish I would have had more time in that city; it's a really beautiful and intriguing place. I had the most amazing food...Once I was back in the good ol' northwest (I managed to even squeeze in a quickie trip to Portland in mid-January with some friends), I made some tentative plans to escape to Baja with another buddy for a few months... But that didn't quite work out. So in the meantime, while I was figuring out what to do instead (this is all during January/February), I realized I was still really stressed out by my last six months abroad.
Here I was, back at 'home' in Seattle, homeless, couch-surfing, still living out of my suitcase, completely out of money and generally pretty unhappy and depressed... So I thought I'd go to Hawaii to clear my head! Good idea, right? :) I spent a couple weeks on Maui with my would-be-Baja-buddy letting the ocean/sun wash/melt away the stress from Europe, and came back to Seattle with my head more level and with a plan of attack for the next few months.Since I've been back from Maui, I've been picking up as much work as I can. I do have a few regular gigs - a couple of restaurant-jobs and a spa-job - but I'm still looking for more work to fill in the holes in my schedule (though I'm already working six days a week). All work and no play! How sad, I know. I do have more trips coming up; the soonest will be a quick jot down to Oregon for a festival in July, and then on to New York to spend some time with a dear friend before she takes off to grad school. Hopefully by this fall I may also be able to try to do a "Europe, Round 2" trip. Let's just keep our fingers crossed on that one, shall we? I'm hoping for Italy and Turkey...
That's all for now -- just wanted to let folks know I'm alive, I'm doing ok, and starting to feel like I'm getting back on track...
