Phew!

Wow, this week has really been flying by. I can't believe it's already the Wednesday evening before I leave... So far, my room is in shambles, I'm trying to sell everything I can, and my roommates are suddenly acting a little nicer (well, one of them is). Maybe they are just as relieved as I am that I'm leaving (lol).

Prague is certainly coming alive for the holidays, especially near Old Town Square (where I live). There are impromptu "Christmas Markets" popping up all over the city, but the most 'official' looking ones are definitely in downtown. A traditional decoration (or kind gift to friends) is a gold, silver, or copper paint-sprayed type of branch (not sure what type it is) and they are sold mostly on the streets, along with Christmas trees, hot wine (yummm), various home-made knick knacks, Trdelnik (cinnamon and sugar covered bread-type rolls, totally dee-lish), and everything else touristy/Christmasy.

See some of you soon...

Nearing the end...

Hi all. I think I need to clarify something - I have been getting a ton of grief from friends who now think that I smoke! What I said in the last post was: I ...don't smoke in the flat, which yes, does sound misleading but what I was trying to demonstrate is that I don't smoke and they do (in our technically "non-smoking" flat). I have always hated the taste/smell of cigarettes and I don't think that will change any time soon! Eeew, gross!! LOL!! And thank you for being concerned with my health. :)

That said...

I'm nearing the end, friends. Less than two weeks to go, and I'm feeling anxious/excited/relieved/unsure/greatful about what is going to happen when I return home. I'm squeaking by (sort of) financially but am not sure how long I can last couch-surfing. What I'm really jonesin' for is to be in Seattle for about two months, relax, see friends, calm my spirit a bit/heal from Prague... And then take off again for another 3-6 months. I have to go someplace cheap since funds are low (I'm thinking most likely Central/South America). I'm just not ready to stay home yet... Still planning on attempting university again in the fall but am feeling the need to not be in Seattle up until then. We'll see. For now, I'm trying my best to keep my heart open to the Universe and recieve what comes my way with humility and appreciation. And praying my luggage makes the weight limits on the way back home!
